The former England star has been resting following a recent knee operation and has only just returned to action making his debut for the Trotters in the recent friendly with Real Zaragoza but the summer signing has revealed he is ready for the weekend.
"I'm hoping to put myself in the frame, I haven't played as many pre-season games as everybody else but I've been working hard. Come next Saturday, I'll be there or thereabouts however I'd like to have played in more pre-season games."
