Shittu is believed to be considering a number of options as he looks for a new club after leaving Bolton earlier this month.
Celtic have been credited with an interest in the powerful defender, while a number of clubs in England, France and the Middle East are thought to be tracking the Nigerian international.
Shittu is refusing to be rushed into a decision on his future as he knows his next move is arguably the biggest decision of his career.
"I am still looking at my options as to where I will resume my playing career," Shittu told skysports.com.
"I want to take my time on my decision as this is such a big thing for my future.
"It has to be the right move for me so that I am playing reguarly again and I believe I still have a lot to offer to the right club.
"I am feeling extremely fit and have been training every day to maintain my fitness.
"I believe I had a good World Cup with Nigeria and I just want to make sure I find the right club to continue my career."
