Sam Allardyce - wants to spend
Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has urged his board of directors to back him financially over the summer as he goes in search of strengthening the squad for next season.

Allardyce beleives that the extra £5 million gained from the clubs lofty league position this season should be spent on improving the current team for the next campaign despite chairman Phil Gartside insisting that he will have to once again adopt the same cautious spending policies of short term deals and loans in the summertime.

However the Bolton boss is in disagreement and wants the money to turn the Wanderers into a top ten team rather than permanent relegation strugglers and feels that it is only fair that the team are allowed to progress.

"It's important we stay up there, the extra £5 million could make us a very strong team. I would want the money because it is me and my team who have earned it for the club." Allardyce said
