Sam Ready To Pull Plug On Rivaldo Deal

Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has told Brazilian World Cup ace Rivaldo that he will not wait for much longer as the bid to lure the former Barcelona superstar to Bolton is now in its third week of negotiation.

Rivaldo 32, looked set to move to the Reebok Stadium on a Free Transfer following his departure from Brazilian club Cruziero but late interest from a number of clubs, including the Scottish champions Celtic as well as constant interferance from a number of agents has meant that the ambitious deal has been held up and Allardyce is now losing patience with the player.

"If it is about a money move, I don't really want him anyway. It has got to be about a football move for him in the best division in the world now - we cannot wait forever.

The Bolton cheif blames the constant interferance of a number of people working on the players behalf and says that it has had a bearing on the player during the negotiation period.

"I think he is doing what most Brazilians do - they have too many advisors to begin with. That makes it a lot more difficult for the player to make his mind up and I am not sure where it lies any more with Rivaldo.

"I suspect the main reason is there are bigger packages elsewhere.
You might have thought we could go the extra little bit but we can't."
