Sam Praises Players Following Spurs Win

Sam Allardyce was quick to praise his Bolton Wanderers team following their fine 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur yesterday which was to move them further away from the chasing pack in the hunt for mid-table security.

Goals from Ivan Campo and Henrik Pedersen where enough to give Bolton the double over David Pleat's side and Allardyce says that all the Bolton players who started the game put in an excellent display.

"It was an excellent performance from the 11 players who started the game, We saw the game out well and we deserved the victory from start to finish."
Allardyce told SKY Sports in his post match interview

"It's onwards and upwards from now on. Hopefully we can finish the season with a flourish."

Allardyce singled out particular praise for strike duo Kevin Davies and Henrik Pedersen who have formed a good understanding in recent games. Davies put in another hard working display and the Bolton boss says all that was missing was a deserved goal to match the performance.

"It was a shame Kevin didn't score because that would have crowned a magnificent performance, He was the starting point of this team, closing the opposition down as a unit and denying them space.

Pedersen hit his fourth goal in five games and Allardyce beleives that the Dane is on his best run of form since his move from Silkeborg nearly three years ago and has reached the levels of fitness required to compete at Premiership level.

"As for Henrik, he is growing in confidence. He is hitting his best patch ever since coming here.He has come to terms with the standard and fitness levels required and now people are taking notice of him."
