Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has confirmed that he is interested in signing Portsmouth's wantaway midfielder Amdy Faye.

The Senegalese ace has been made available for transfer by the South Coast club after becoming disgruntled with life at Fratton Park and Allardyce says he would be interested in capturing the African battler.

Premiership rivals Birmingham City and Middlesbrough are also keen to add the former Auxerre player to their squads but Wanderers have the added advantage of having two Senegal players already at the club in the shape of El-Hadji Diouf and Khalilou Fadiga.

"He is a player I am very interested in, I have spoken to my chairman about doing a deal and we will take it from there." Allardyce commented
