Sam Looking For More

Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has admitted he remains desperate to bolster his squad despite the arrivals of Mexican striker Jared Borgetti and Senegalese defender Abdoulaye Diagne-Faye.

"I've got good quality players but I'm still five or six short, and I'm still looking to get more players in," said Allardyce.

"Juanfran is coming in from Besiktas for a year's loan and we've got Borgetti, but after that we need another three or four to fill the positions.

"We allowed the younger players to come with us on our tour to the Far East and come here today.

"But we can't really see that at their tender age that they are good enough to come into our first-team and play.

"Defensively, midfield and up front, we are still way short of securing the quality and midfield that we need. We had 22 quality players last season but we have only 18 this season."
