Sam Happy With Progress

Sam Allardyce has said that he is happy at the way Bolton Wanderers have started their season even though sometimes he feels that the team have underachieved in certain games.

Allardyce saw his team jump back up to fourth place following the slender 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend. The performance against the Eagles wasn't the best but the Trotters boss says that coming away with results in tight games such as the one against Palace proves what perfection is about in the Premiership.

"It's a nice position to be in after nine games, I'm delighted because after nine games we have 15 points - and in those games we've underachieved, which shows our progress."

"For me perfection is doing what we've done against Palace, achieving something you don't deserve. That's perfection in the Premiership, if you're not the best team or you've not had your best game but you can come away with something and stay in the top half. And that is what we have to do."
