Romanian Set For Trotters Trial

Following the unsuccessful trials of Marijan Kovacevic, Zoran Mirkovic, Joao Manuel Pinto and Jorge Vargas in recent weeks, Sam Allardyce has invited Real Betis defender Iulian Filipescu on Bolton Wanderers training stint in La Manga.

Romanian International Filipescu has caused much controversy with the La Liga outfit following a number of disciplinary problems and it is thought that the player would seek an anulment of his contract following a number of run ins with the president Manuel Ruiz but it is thought that Betis would not be keen to grant the anulment therefore leaving the player out of first team contention despite having been contracted to the club for the next three years.

The former Galatasary player could however quit the club as a free agent if he decides to take Ruiz to court over a row over image rights in which the player claims he is owed.

His agent Vicente Sanchez just told reporters "We are waiting to see if we can reach an agreement with Bolton"

This whole situation seems very messy to me and no matter how good a player this guy is I think we should leave well alone as he wouldn't be good for morale in view of the situation surrounding his current club.
