The agent of Brazilian forward Rivaldo has confirmed that he is hopeful that his client will be a Bolton Wanderers player within the next 48 hours after the club revealed talks with the World Cup winner yesterday afternoon.

English agent Peter Harrison is a representative of the player and he is confident that a deal for the former Barcelona and AC Milan player can be concluded by the early part of next week.

'We are still in negotiations but, hopefully, he will be a Bolton player in the next 48 hours. He would be looking to sign a two-year contract.' he told BBC five live

Harrison also confirmed that despite other clubs interest and money being an issue he expected the former World and European player of the year to make Bolton his next port of call having left Brazilian club Cruziero earlier on this year, he says the player has done his research on the club and should join the likes of Youri Djorkaeff, Jay-Jay Okocha, Ivan Campo and such players at the Reebok Stadium.

"Although Rivaldo is a high-profile player and money has been an issue in the negotiations, I think a deal can be done soon. He has done a lot of research and he has been well received by the club. Although a number of clubs have been keen, Sam Allardyce was the first manager to show a real interest in signing him." Harrison added
