Rivaldo Has To Work Hard - Davies

Kevin Davies has told potential Bolton recruit Rivaldo that he must work hard if he is to get his career back on track in England having left the Brazilian club Cruziero earlier on this year.

The ex-Southampton striker was speaking after scoring the winning goal against the Saints on Saturday following Bolton's 2-1 win on the South coast and when asked about the Brazilian's proposed move to the Reebok Stadium he said that he felt that the move could be mutually beneficial for both Rivaldo and the players already at the club.

"If Rivaldo does sign, we are going to learn loads from him, like we do from other players here," he said.

However Davies warned the World Cup winner that he must be prepared to work hard to successfully be accomodated into the Bolton set up or face being excluded from the team, as players such as Mario Jardel and Ibrahim Ba - both players with big reputations, have found out this season

"(But) you've got to work hard in this team. We've got some good players in, but they have not worked hard and been left out. So we will see how good he is at tracking back!" he added with a hint of sarcasm
