Referee Uriah Rennie could find himself in trouble with the Referees Association following his handling of Monday's Premiership clash betweeen Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers at Molineux.

Wolves manager David Jones was furious with the Yorkshire official claiming that his side had been denied three cast iron penalties and it seems the news has reached head office as referee's cheif Keith Hackett was also unimpressed with Rennie's handling of what was a highly charged atmosphere.

The first appeal came in the opening minutes of the game when Bolton midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos was alleged to have fouled former Manchester City winger Mark Kennedy in the area whilst in the dying minutes of the match the home crowd felt that both Jussi Jaaskelainen and Emerson Thome were guilty of fouls on the Wolves duo Paul Butler and Kenny Miller resulting in one supporter entering the field of play to air his protests.

Hackett was quick to remind the official of his job and stated that the referee's future matches will be monitored with interest to avoid a repeat of the Easter hostilities.

"I'd like to remind everybody that these are professional referees. I have the right to withdraw appointments and the FA have the power to suspend officials."
