Relief for Big Sam

Wanderers were without a league win since September 11th, but a Henrik Pedersen double and goals from Michael Ricketts and Youri Djorkaeff in the last few minutes saw them pick-up three valuable points at Elland Road.

Allardyce said: "We have been very, very miserable in the last few weeks, me included.

"It has been hard trying to lift the players, but there's great release for me personally, while I'm delighted for the players because this is a great result for them and for everybody.

"We scored four goals away from home and good goals at that, even Michael's penalty because there was a lot of pressure on him at that stage of the game, but he showed great composure.

"I have been complaining about the front line not putting the ball in the back of the net, but they have stuffed it right up me today and long may that continue because if it does then there's only one way for us and that's up."
