The 23 year old now looks set to land a deal with the Lancashire outfit.
Boss Sam Allardyce, told the club website: "Giovanni is training with us with a view to a move.
"He has impressed us from what we have seen this week and I am sure if a deal is done he'd be a good acquisition."
