Portuguese left back Nuno Valente is a £1,500,000 target for Bolton Wanderers and a move for the FC Porto captain could occur once the European Championships are over.

Valente 29, is one of a number of players Sam Allardyce is said to want to add to the Trotters ranks and the potential addition of the 2004 Champions League winner will be quite a coup for the club who face competition from local rivals Manchester City in a bid to sign up the defender.

The move for the former Sporting Lisbon ace is said to rely heavily on personal terms being agreed but the Premiership would certainly appeal to Valente who has seen his Porto teammates Paulo Ferriera and Deco agree to move to moneybags Chelsea following the appointment of the much sought after Jose Mourinho as the Blues manager.

Meanwhile a deal to bring Everton's David Unsworth to the club on a Bosman Free Transfer seems to have stalled on fitness grounds but there is better news regarding the arrival of Tunisian defender Radhi Jaidi who is expected to complete the formalities of his move from Esparence once Allardyce returns from a holiday.
