Bolton Wandererers goalkeeper Kevin Poole has said he is happy with life at the club and has enjoyed his recent run in the first team, becoming a key member of the side which has helped the club to a Carling Cup Semi Final.

The 40-year old former Leicester City and Birmingham City keeper, joined Wanderers as cover for Jussi Jaaskelainen in October 2001 and says although he didn't expect to play too much he has enjoyed being involved in the clubs recent cup run.

"I suppose life does begin at 40, It has come as a bit of shock to get a few games because I came here as a number two and didn't expect to play too much. I'm just going to enjoy it for as long as I can, and at the minute I'm having the time of my life. It's a great feeling to be here and everyone is on top of their game. There's a great team spirit." he said

Poole made an excellent save from Southampton star Paul Telfer during Tuesday's Carling Cup Quarter Final win over the Saints tipping the ball onto the bar following a stinging 40-yard drive from the Scotland International

"When you play in games like the one against Southampton, you just have to keep your concentration and be ready for when something happens. I was lucky to get a fingertip to Telfer's shot. Thankfully it hit the bar. But we're in the semi-finals now and can look forward to it. There are a few games before that, though, and we'll have to see what happens."
