The Russian international had been hotly tipped to move to Bolton at the start of the transfer window but now it seems as if both Pompey and Crystal Palace are strong rivals in the race to land the Dinamo Moscow man.
Portsmouth chairman Milan Manaric was hopeful of concluding a permanent £1.5 million transfer for the Euro 2004 star which would ultimately rule cash strapped Bolton out of the running.
