Bolton Wanderers loan signing Jon Otsemobor has said that he hopes his temporary stay with the Trotters will help him force his way into full contention with Liverpool for next season.

The 20-year old full back joined Wanderers earlier this week from the Anfield side and is keen to use the loan spell to help Bolton whilst also getting some first team experience under his belt which he feels will help him establish himself for Gerard Houllier's team next season.

"It will be great for me to get more Premiership games under my belt, with Steve Finnan and Jamie Carragher fit again it was always going to be difficult if I stayed" Otsemobor said

"I see Bolton as a great chance for me to show what I can do in a great team and in many ways it will help me at Liverpool too. If I show I can do it regularly at the highest level then it will help me at Liverpool next season"

Otsemobor was keen to point out that his move was only on a temporary basis but said that he is already getting settled into his new environment with fellow scouser Kevin Nolan helping the player during his first few days in Bolton.

"I don't see this as the end of my time at Liverpool at all but i'm really looking forward to playing for Bolton. I've already trained with them , Kevin Nolan who's a scouser, is one of their best players and has been helping me settle in already"

The England U20 international says he still has loyalties to the Reds and will feel mixed emotion when he faces them at the weekend but is determined to make the most of his spell with Wanderers where he will remain until June.

"As far as i'm concerned Liverpool are still my team so if I do play I will have mixed feelings. It's not like i've left the club. I still want Liverpool to win their games but at the same time I want to do the best for Bolton while i'm here"
