Otsemobor Joins Bolton Ranks

Bolton Wanderers have made a last ditch transfer deadline swoop by adding 20-year old Liverpool defender Jon Otsemobor to their ranks on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The England U20 international ironically made his full Reds debut against the Wanderers in the Carling Cup Fourth Round back in December, a game which Bolton won 3-2 at Anfield and many are tipping the player to be a future full England international. The coaching staff at the Merseyside club have high hopes for the player who is expected to return to his home city once the loan expires.

Ostemobor had a similar spell out on loan with Hull City last season when he scored three times in nine games for the Tigers and Wanderers will be hoping that the Liverpool-born youngster can continue his rapid progress during his stay at the Reebok Stadium.

The Reds defender is very versitile having played in every position along the back four during his time as a professional for the Anfield side but now seems more at home in the full back positions pushing forward to help the attack and this could come in useful when Wanderers take on Leicester City in a weeks time as Nicky Hunt is suspended.

On signing Ostemobor the Bolton manager Sam Allardyce said "The loan signing of Jon Ostemobor is an excellent capture for us. Jon is a mobile player who loves to push forward from the back. He has tremendous pace and an excellent passing game"

"We needed to strengthen our defensive unit and Jon will add competition for places in this vital area. He made his senior debut against Bolton in the Carling Cup this season and I thought he was their most influential player that night"
