Bolton Wanderers captain Jay-Jay Okocha has vowed to play on in the African Cup of Nations for his country Nigeria despite having experienced difficulty on Wednesday with a finance problem.

There was a suggestion that the Super Eagles skipper could be forced to miss the tournament as the bank that dealt with his finances had encountered a problem, however 30-year old has explained that the situation isn't as desperate as first reported and confirmed he will link up with the Greens in Tunisia as originally planned

"It is true that some of my money is trapped in a bank in Nigeria, But the situation is not as bad as it has been made out to be. People are trying to exaggerate the seriousness of the situation"

"I am in the process of trying to take care of the situation but it will not stop me from playing for Nigeria at the Nations Cup, I am in good spirits and am determined to do my best." Okocha told the BBC
