Jay-Jay Okocha has confirmed that he will be no longer taking part in any international friendlies for his country Nigeria, effectively ruling him out of the Super Eagles friendly game with Japan on 21st August.

The Nigerian skipper who turns 30 tommorow, met with officials from the Nigerian FA and Bolton Wanderers to discuss his international future following conflict between club and country which meant the Nigerian was missing too many domestic games because of friendlies and such forth but now it seems the dispute has been solved and a compromise agreed meaning any future caps Okocha wins will have to be in competitive matches only.

"I have made it clear to the Nigerian FA that I will not be taking part in friendly matches for Nigeria therefore i will not be travelling with the squad to Japan for next weeks game" Okocha said

"Travelling to Japan would be too much especially in a Premiership season. "

"Discussions have taken place between me, the Nigerian FA and Bolton Wanderers in respect of my international future. I have agreed that i will play for them in competitive matches. Playing for Bolton Wanderers is important to me and i want to be succesful here" said the influential midfield star
