Bolton Wanderers and Nigeria captain Jay-Jay Okocha has been named in a provisional 35-man squad for next year's African Nations Cup tournament to be held in Tunisia.

Amongst the squad selected by general manager Taimo Ogunjobi prior to the appointment of former England captain Bryan Robson, is British based players Joseph Yobo, Isaac Okoronkwo, Celestine Babayaro, Christopher Kanu, George Abbey, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Nwankwo Kanu.

Other familiar faces include defender Ifeanyi Udeze, who was on loan with West Brom last season and Julius Aghahowa who is a long time target of the Wanderers.

The tournament held every few years usually means a player could be away from domestic action for up to a month. Wanderers experienced this first hand a few years ago when Mark Fish was selected for South Africa during their campaigns in the ANC forcing the player who is now at Charlton Athletic, to be away from the team for long spells.
