Bolton midfielder Kevin Nolan has spoken about the labels that Bolton have aquired over the past seasons and how the next campaign will be no different.

'Long ball' was used frequently to describe Bolton's style of play but Nolan is just looking forward to next season as he embarks on his first taste of European football.

"We are always one of those sides that the critics always have a go at but we have done well for a few years in a row," said Nolan.

"But I don't think we get tired of it, I think we fight through it and hopefully they will give us much more stick this year as they have in the past.

''We are looking forward to the season and we are particularly looking forward to playing in the Uefa Cup, we've never done it before.

"It's going to be new for me and it's going to be a massive season for Bolton and for me especially.

"Ever since I joined the club, every season the standard has got higher and higher and hopefully it will go up this season, that it won't be any different.

"Everyone in the team is improving, we have set ourselves a high standard and hopefully everything will go to plan."
