Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan says he is in no rush to decide on his international future despite having been targeted by the Republic of Ireland to represent them.

Nolan 21, has been in fine form for the Wanderers this season putting in a string of top class performances topping the club's goalscoring charts in the process and this is said to have attracted the attention of the Ireland coach Brian Kerr.

The Liverpool born player qualifies to play for Eire through his Grandparents and despite being capped by England at three different levels the player is keeping his options open regarding his international future and will seek advice from his manager Sam Allardyce before making a final decision on where his nationality lies.

"I've heard a few of the lads talking about the Ireland business but I have heard nothing from them myself. Me and the gaffer (Sam Allardyce) might have to sit down and make a big decision, if it comes to that. But Ireland have got a lot of great midfielders and might not want me" Nolan said

If Nolan does swap nationalities he will not be the first player to do so. Recently Ben Thatcher of Leicester City, once a captain of the England U21 side was called up by Wales whilst Manchester United and Wales midfielder Ryan Giggs was once an England schoolboys player.
