Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan hopes that his side can overcome the threat of Carling Cup holders Liverpool when the two sides come face to face at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The likeable 21-year old, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan, was ecstatic at scoring the winner against their Merseyside rivals Everton in the Premiership at the weekend and the England U21 midfielder hopes the Wanderers can make two wins in a row against Merseyside opposition.

"I can go home to Liverpool happy! All my mates are Everton fans, and none of them will be going out after the game - they will all be in their beds crying!

"It will be nice to get a double in the Carling Cup against Liverpool. Hopefully we can go there and give a good account of ourselves. People will fear playing us at the moment. Now we have to kick on. It's about confidence."
