The Japanese midfielder, 28, is on a season-long loan at the Reebok from Italian giants Fiorentina.

But Bolton manager Allardyce admits he does not have the cash to take up the option of making the move permanent in January.

He said: "It will be the end of the season when we look at making Nakata's move permanent. The key reason is the fee.

"That will have to be taken out of next season's budget because the money this year will be used to add players in January.

"Hide has had a bit of a dip in form recently.

"He knows he has not been as good as he would expect."
