Nigerian midfield ace Ifeanyi Ekwueme has been linked with a move to Bolton Wanderers after turning down the chance to sign a new deal with Polish team Wisla Plock.

The 24-year old will be available on a Free Transfer and is said to also be interesting the likes of Everton, Wolves, West Brom and Portsmouth, all of whom have had Nigerian players in their squad in recent seasons.

Ekwueme has over 25 caps for the Super Eagles and can play either in a central role or on the left hand side of midfield. His agent Ray Warner told the BBC that his client prefers to move to England.

"There are a couple of clubs in Germany interested but he has set his heart on England," he said

Bolton already have Nigerian stars Jay-Jay Okocha and Blessing Kaku in their ranks so a move to Lancashire with the Wanderers could well appeal to the former Polonia Warsaw man.
