Nigerian international goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama has been handed a trail by Bolton Wanderers after his club Enyimba cleared the way for the player to move to England.

Sam Allardyce had wanted to take a look at the player in previous months but Enyimba's participation in the Champions League meant that they were unable to allow Ebyeama to go on trial across Europe as he was the first choice goalkeeper for the Nigerian club but now the two clubs have reached a compromise and the 21-year old will travel to the Reebok Stadium in the very near future once Enyimba's matches in the Champions League competition are concluded.

Felix Anyansi-Agwu, who is a representative of the player told kickoffnigeria.com that the club would not block any attempts for the player to better himself and explains the contact which was made by Bolton with regards to a trial.

"What happened was that Bolton sent us a letter requesting us to give him permission to come over at a date that was mutually convenient to both clubs, We have the first leg of our Champions League match coming up and he is our first choice goalkeeper so we wouldn't just let him go like that. We wanted him to play for us in that match before he left.We have no intention of preventing any player from furthering their career, and we shall continue to assist any of our players who have genuine contracts in Europe."

Bolton's current number one is the Finnish international goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen who has made 200 appearances for the club since joining from VPS Vaasa in November 1997. The Wanderers also have the veteran Kevin Poole and Jamaican Donovan Ricketts as back up for Jaaskelainen in the event of injuries and suspensions.
