Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce was full of praise for homegrown full back Nicky Hunt after the 20-year old scored his first goal in senior football during Saturday's 2-2 draw against Liverpool at the Reebok Stadium.

Hunt gave Wanderers the lead on 11 minutes when he fired the ball past Reds keeper Jerzy Dudek from a tight angle with his left foot and Allardyce says that the Westhoughton-born star has been a potent attacking threat all season.

"Nicky has threatened a lot this season on the overlap and with his late arrival into space. With the quality and technique he has he is capable of scoring but I wouldn't have expected him to get one with his left foot, he struck it beautifully as well" Allardyce told the clubs official site
