Next Two Games Are Very Important - Allardyce

Sam Allardyce has stated that Bolton Wanderers must aim to get maximum points from their next two games against Blackburn Rovers and West Bromwich Albion, games he describes as "six-pointers".

Allardyce saw his team extend their woeful winter record against Manchester United yesterday and says that the game against Rovers tommorow is going to be very important.

"Blackburn have had the struggles we have experienced in the last couple of seasons at this stage. We know how difficult it is to dig your way out. Unfortunately for us, we are heading dangerously towards the bottom four instead of staying in the top half. It just makes this game even more important. All of a sudden, even at this stage of the season, it has become a proverbial six-pointer.

The Bolton boss believes that success in the next two games can get his side back on the right track rather than looking down nervously at the teams below who have taken advantage of Wanderers recent blip.

"We have two very important home games that could make sure the season doesn't decline into nervous tension. We must stop the nerve ends jangling and get back on track so we can look forward to 2005 with new and fresh hope"
