New Boys To Feature On Wednesday?

Sam Allardyce could be tempted to rush Jared Borgetti and Hidetoshi Nakata
into action on Wednesday when Bolton entertain Newcastle at the Reebok Stadium.

Allardyce was left with a feeling of disbelief after Marcus Bent's 53rd-minute winner earnt Everton an undeserved victory on Sunday. When asked if Borgetti and Nakata might have turned the game their way, the Bolton boss said:

"I would have hoped so. It is a deficiency we have to put right the best we can and as soon as we can. What we lacked in this game was the quality of finishing.

"As the years have gone by we have started to score more and more as we have shared the goals out more and more.

"Lots of our players will score six or seven which is the reason we are where we are. We don't have to rely on someone scoring 15-20.

"But if any of the two [Borgetti and Nakata] could come in with that goal ratio, that would be an enormous help."

Allardyce said: "This was a perfect example of what happens when you do not take advantage of the chances you create.

"We had 17 attempts on goal to their three yet ended up losing the game.

"I don't want to be too hard on our defence given the chances we missed but one lapse of concentration has cost us dear.

"We were never under the cosh yet we ended up with nothing, it is so frustrating."
