Bolton Wanderers hope to complete the signing of Hidetoshi Nakata on Monday after the 28 year old finishes his medical.
Allardyce said: "Hopefully on Monday, the medical will be all clear and we'll give the player a squad number and get him in amongst the lads as quickly as possible.
"We will have something like 14 nationalities in the dressing room with Nakata and five different religions. There'll be a fantastic menu in the canteen! But in all seriousness I'm pretty excited about this young man.
"His focus and belief in himself and his talent will be a great addition for us in the Premiership. His focus is only to play Premiership football.
"He tells me it's been his wish for a number of years and we're giving him that chance. He wants to be a major success for us and prove he is a good, good player in the Premier League."
