Midfielder In Suspension Blow

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Per Frandsen will miss the club's Carling Cup Semi Final first leg tie against Aston Villa in two weeks time as he picked up his fifth booking of the season in last night's defeat to Manchester United.

The 33-year old former Danish international was cautioned ten minutes from time by referee Dermot Gallagher for a trip on Paul Scholes and will now miss the all important clash with Villa at the Reebok Stadium.

This will come as a huge blow to the Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce who has already seen injuries and suspensions hit his squad this season and as Jay-Jay Okocha will also be missing due to African Nations Cup duty then Allardyce may be forced to bring some players in on short term deals to add cover to the squad.
