Bolton Wanderers midfielder Kevin Nolan will use the break in the domestic football calender to sort out a troublesome ankle problem which has plagued him for over a year.
The 22-year old will be booked in for an operation in the next week to sort out the problem and is hopeful to be back in time for the Trotters next Premiership game with Crystal Palace on October 16th.
Nolan has been in fine form for the Wanderers during the past month and his surgery is only expected to keep him sidelined for a minimal amount of time.
Meanwhile former Chelsea midfielder Emmanuel Petit has not closed the door on a move to the Reebok Stadium and is still hopeful of thrashing out a deal to come to Lancashire. London club Crystal Palace have also been interested in the World Cup winner.
