Mellberg Warns Of Bolton Threat

Swedish international defender Olaf Mellberg has said that he expects a difficult game when his club Aston Villa take on Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium this coming Saturday.

The 26-year old beleives that the Wanderers style of play is very difficult to defend against but is hopeful that the Villa rear guard can cope with the three man strike force of Kevin Davies and the supporting pair Henrik Pedersen and Stelios Giannakopoulos.

"Bolton are a very difficult side. Whether they are home or away they play the same way - they are very direct and that's regardless of who they play. That's difficult for defenders but we have to handle it. We did at home against them when we battered them, but certainly didn't at their place."

Commenting on the Villans Carling Cup first leg Semi Final defeat the former Racing Santander man said that it was frustrating for the team to nearly get back on level terms only for the Wanderers to score two final goals making the scoreline 5-2 to effectively kill off the tie.

"It was our worst display of the season. It was so frustrating to get back into the game at 3-2 and then concede two more goals. Conceding five goals is never what you hope for."
