Chris Makin - Wanderers Bound?
Ipswich Town full back Chris Makin could be set for a move to Bolton Wanderers as Town manager Joe Royle confirmed that the Manchester-born player had rejected a new short-term deal to stay at Portman Road.

Now out of contract after his deal expired on Wedneday the 31-year old spent the majority of last season on the sidelines and his absence from the start of pre-season training yesterday has lead to reports that the former Oldham Athletic man will return North to sign for a Premiership club beleived to be Bolton.

Royle has lost a number of experienced players over the summer following the club's Play Off failure at the end of last season including Alun Armstrong, John McGreal, Chris Bart-Williams, Marcus Bent and Jermaine Wright and now expects to add Makin to the list of those departing East-Anglia.

"Chris didn't report for training yesterday - not that he needed to because his contract with us expired on Wednesday - and we have been unable to contact him since then. What does that tell us? We can only assume he is moving elsewhere and no longer wants to be at Ipswich." Royle said.
