Former Bolton Wanderers loanee Glen Little is a reported target of Premiership rivals Newcastle United after the Magpies cheif scout Charlie Woods watched the Burnley player in action at the weekend.

The 28-year old winger and his Clarets team mate Richard Chaplow are beleived to have been earmarked by Newcastle manager Sir Bobby Robson as potential signings for next season and Woods monitored the duo during the game against Bradford City on Saturday.

Little joined Wanderers in a loan exchange for Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly last September making four appearances from the substitutes bench before being recalled by Burnley due to an injury crisis at Turf Moor.

Lately the player has shown the type of form which made him one of the most highly rated players outside the top flight and with him being out of contract in the summer there is sure to be a number of interested parties with ourselves, Preston North End, Wigan Athletic and Manchester City having previously been credited with an interest in the London-born ace.
