Lizarazu Linked With Bolton Switch

Bolton Wanderers and Liverpool have been linked with a summer move for Bayern Munich defender Bixente Lizarazu who will be out of contract next summer.

The 33-year old former Bordeaux and Athletico Bilbao full back agreed an extension to stay for a further year with the German club over the summer but now the veteran admits he is unsure of where his next move will take him.

The Basque born player was a long term target of Manchester United a few years ago and it seems with the interest from Liverpool that the player has still many admirers within the game including in France and Spain.

"I will be free from next June," stated Lizarazu. "I will study all the offers on sport, financial and family levels. Considering my age and my situation, I won't rush. I will take care, because sometimes there is nothing good available. This is notably the case in Spain. There, you have to really take care and look at the big picture. Honestly, there are few chances for me to come back to France."

Obviously if signed it will be another major coup for the club and helped by the fact that he will know Youri Djorkaeff, Ibrahim Ba and Bruno N'Gotty from the international set up.
