Former Bolton Wanderers defender Bernard Mendy has once again been linked with a move to Liverpool after French Sportspaper L'Equipe claim the Paris Saint Germain player is again a target for the Anfield club.

Ex-loanee Mendy 22, was a key member of the Bolton team to avoid relegation in the 2002-2003 season but returned to France at the end of that season after Wanderers where put off by PSG's asking price of £2,500,000. He has since returned to the French club's starting line up and it seems the Merseysiders have maintained their interest in his progress since he departed the Reebok Stadium ranks a year ago.

Any move for the French U21 international would depend on the future of Reds boss Gerard Houllier who has come under increased pressure since the news broke that the club where to be taken over by a multi-million pound investor.
