Leonard Wants Bolton Move

Belgian trialist Phillippe Leonard has expressed a desire to earn a permanent move to Bolton Wanderers according to his agent Dennis Roach.

The 29-year old left back joined the Wanderers last week on a trial basis and has hooked up with the first team squad on their training stint in the Spanish resort of La Manga and Roach beleives that his client has impressed sufficiently so far and could offer Sam Allardyce a lot of options in defence should he sign a permanent deal with the club.

"The situation is that Philippe arrived at Bolton last week and he has had a couple of training sessions with the team. He has also joined them on their trip to La Manga and will stay with them for a couple of weeks.

Roach explained that the Belgian International could move to Bolton right away if he is succesful as he has been out of contract since leaving the La Championnat leaders AS Monaco over the summer. He has expressed a desire to move to the Premiership and as previous moves to both Blackburn Rovers and Spurs both broke down the player will be hoping it will be third time lucky with the Trotters.

"Philippe is out of contract and is still able to move to a new club after leaving Monaco. He was close to moves to Blackburn and Tottenham in the past and he is keen to move to England.

"Sam Allardyce is looking to bolster his defence and Philippe provides a lot of options as he can play at left back, centre back or the left side of midfield. He is a proven player who has played on the highest stage with club and country and he is hopeful of securing a move to Bolton."
