Bolton Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce has taken yet another defender on trial in the shape of Monaco left back Phillippe Leonard who is out of contract with the La Championat leaders and is actively looking for a new club.

The 29-year old defender who is a full Belgian International had rejected a move to Wanderers local rivals Blackburn Rovers earlier on in the year and had also had a spell on trial with Nice last month but it is thought the Liege-born defender is keen on a move to the Premiership.

Meanwhile Wanderers will make a decision over the weekend to determine whether Chilean defender Jorge Vargas has done enough to earn a permanent contract with the club following a week on trial after leaving Reggiana.
