Walsall manager Colin Lee is hoping that his side can put in a good performance at the Reebok Stadium tonight despite not having won since the last round of the Cup since beating Carlisle United.

Former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Lee is hoping that the Carling Cup tie with the Trotters will releive some of the recent pressure that the Saddlers have been under and hopes a good level of performance against Premiership opposition will help kick start their season again.

“I think it’s a good game to play in, personally. Cup games are always good to play in, regardless of which cup it is. It takes you away from the pressures of the league programme" he said

“When you play against Premier League opposition, players usually rise to the occasion and hopefully that will happen for us. We want to get something out of the game, even if it means playing well and not winning; a good performance would count for a lot.”
