Senegal midfielder Khalilou Fadiga has said that Sam Allardyce played a huge part in his decision to come to Bolton Wanderers last month.

The 29-year old had left Italian giants Inter Milan after suffering with an irregular heartbeat but the African is now hopeful of getting his career back on track at the Reebok Stadium with Bolton.

"I am really happy, I had a few offers but I chose to come to Bolton because I already have some friends here and I have a very good feeling with Sam Allardyce.

"I spoke with Sam, no-one came across as well as he did. When you go for a job, the people have to show they want you and Sam did that. For me, it is a very good team, with good players.

The former Club Brugge star is hoping that the club can finish in the top half of the table and hopes to establish himself as a regular member of the first team line up.

"After two or three days it was very easy for me to come here. I hope to be on the team every Saturday or Sunday. It would be a very nice season if we were towards the top of the Premier League."
