Bolton Wanderers midfielder Blessing Kaku has been called up by Nigeria for their World Cup qualifier against Gabon this coming weekend.

Super Eagles coach Christian Chukwu has seen his preparations for the game dented due to injuries to key players such as Julius Aghahowa, John Utaka, Joseph Yobo and Wanderers captain Jay-Jay Okocha hence a rare inclusion for Kaku.

The 26-year old has only won two caps for his country so far with the last coming ironically in a World Cup qualifying game with Eritthea in October 2000 which the Super Eagles went on to win convincingly by four goals to nil.
