Juventus striker Marcelo Zalayeta could be on his way to Bolton Wanderers this summer after his losing his place at the Stadio Dell Alpi recently.

The Uruguayan forward is set to depart Turin on a loan basis after Juventus added the former Chelsea front man Adrian Mutu to their ranks, and a move to the Reebok Stadium would give "The Black Panther" the perfect setting to resume his career.

Zalayeta would be a perfect addtion to the Bolton team for their first ever venture into European football as he has a large amount of experience in the Champions League and UEFA Cup.

Birmingham City are also beleived to be interested in securing the services of the former Perigua loanee, but all depends on whether the Midlands club can persuade Walter Pandiani to stay at St Andrews on a more permanent arrangement.
