Bolton Wanderers striker Mario Jardel has signed for Serie A club Ancona on a loan deal until the end of the season to finally end speculation over the future of the Brazilian striker.

The 30-year old former Golden Boot winner had been linked to numerous clubs since the turn of the year, notably Espanyol, Numancia and Besiktas but now the former Sporting Lisbon ace will be hoping his move to the Italian strugglers will help resurrect his once glittering career.

Jardel had failed to settle at Bolton since his move from Portugal in the summer and the move to Italy comes just a day after Wanderers rejected an offer from La Liga strugglers Espanyol for the player. The forward becomes the third English based player to move to the Serie A basement club joining former Blackburn Rovers striker Corrado Grabbi and Luciano Zavango, once of Derby County.
