Following yesterday's signing of the former England striker Les Ferdinand the club have confirmed that Tunisian international Radhi Jaidi has joined them under the Bosman ruling after leaving Esparence de Tunis.

The 28-year old central defender has a wealth of experience at international level and was a star performer for his country during this year's African Cup of Nations in which he proved to be a competent man marker who was strong in the tackle.

Jaidi, who will be the first Tunisian player to sign for a Premiership club, has signed a two year contract with the Wanderers and is a ready made replacement for Emerson Thome who failed to agree terms over a fresh contract last month and now looks destined for pastures new.

Bolton are beleived to have beaten off competition from a number of clubs to sign the stopper with both clubs in France and Holland keen to secure the giant African to a contract.

Jaidi was delighted to be moving to England and told the clubs official site that the way in which he was treated during the negotiation period was something which helped make his mind up to move to the Reebok Stadium.

"I've had an excellent career with Esparence and left on a high. But I now feel ready to experience a different challenge."

"The attraction of Premiership football is difficult to resist and when I found out that Bolton Wanderers was interested in me I was very keen. Other clubs showed an interest but Bolton took the trouble to see me in person and proved how serious they were in aquiring my services"

"I am looking forward to meeting my new team mates and flying the flag for Tunisian football in what is one of the worlds greatest leagues"

BoltonMAD would like to welcome Radhi to Bolton Wanderers.
