Icelandic Duo On Trial

Bolton Wanderers have taken two of Iceland's most promising players on a weeks trial from KR Reykjavik with a view to adding both to their squad should they impress.

Striker Veigar Pall Gunnarsson and defender Kristjan Orn Sigurdsson have both been recommended to the club by former Wanderers and Iceland captain Gudni Bergsson who confirmed in the summer that Gunnarsson would spend part of October with the Trotters.

Both are 23-years old and in the case of striker Gunnarsson he has been involved with the Icelandic National side on a number of occasions this season and has formed a useful link up with former Wanderers player Arnar Gunnlaugsson at KR.

Wanderers will be hoping that both trialists can emulate the success that the likes of Bergsson and Eidur Gudjohnsen had during their time at the Reebok Stadium, with the latter having ironically been signed by Colin Todd from KR in August 1998.
