International Debut
Bolton Wanderers defender Nicky Hunt made his England U21 debut last night when he played the entire first half of the Three Lions 3-2 win over Holland at Hull City's Kingston Communications Stadium before being replaced by Arsenal's Justin Hoyte.

Westhoughton born Hunt has been one of the leading lights of the Wanderers team this season and his performances for the club have been rewarded with a place in David Platt's young England team, a team which last night consisted of eight newcomers.

Ipswich Town striker Darren Bent hit the winner despite some second half pressure on England by their Dutch counterparts. For Hunt it was the start of what will hopefully be a budding international career.
