This week's open secret finally became fact with the announcement that Dean Holdsworth is to be Phil Brown's assistant.

Thirty six year old Holdsworth was today unveiled as Phil Brown's assistant and spoke of how impressed he is with the setup at Pride Park and at the Rams' Moor Farm training complex.

Speaking to the club's official website, he said "My initial impressions of the place are that it's the same as when I played here, it's a fantastic set-up, the training ground is tremendous, and the whole structure of the club is based around the Premiership".

Holdsworth, who was at Bolton when Phil Brown was assistant manager there, spoke of the trust that exists between him and PB.

"I'm going to be taking the club forwards, doing a lot of the organisational stuff, set-pieces will be down to me and Phil, and most importantly we have each other's trust. We'll be working together and there'll be no stone un-turned to make sure that this club goes where it wants to be".
